My hat is off to anyone who says setting up this watch was not a problem. I returned mine to Amazon today. I have previously had several multi-function watches and had little or no difficulty with the set ups. After playing with and trying to follow Cascio instructions, off and on for 5 days, I finally gave up. From this point on I will forget about the atomic age when it comes to watches and go back to the more traditional ones some of which even have 10 year batteries.

    Great watch

This is just a great watch! Had it for about a month and I’m just loving it. I have about five other watches, some of them expensive, but i’ve been wearing this one every day.

It is very accurate and you don’t to worry about anything. The solar cell takes care of the battery being charged. It is also very nice looking. Initially I had some trouble

figuring out the instruction manual, but when I called Casio they were very helpful. Again great watch, you can’t beat the price, so I highly recommend it!

    Great solar powered atomic waveceptor

I received as a birthday present this past March (2009) and have been wearing it ever since (7 months). It functions perfectly. I had to use the booklet to set it up, but it wasn’t overly complex. I just needed to know which button to push when. I haven’t had any problems with the set-up or the functions.

The main problem is that the face glass get scratched and marked fairly easily. It has banged against a wall and fallen to the ground, resulting in some marks on the face, but nothing so serious that I can’t read it. Usually I only notice the scratches when in direct light.

The other problem is the band. It is comfortable to wear and fits fine, but it has a tendency to collect sweat beneath it and isn’t very breathable. So at times it can become uncomfortable to wear the band.

I have to say the best part of this watch is being able to tell people that it isn’t a watch. I tell them it is a solar powered atomic waveceptor with a broad smile. It sounds sci-fi or straight out of a comic book and its fun to say.

    Seen but not heard.

I have been looking for a long time for a replacement watch for my trusty, rugged 10-year-old G-Shock Digital. It still keeps time but it’s really beat up. And since I often stay at hotels or nap in my car, I have been feeling the need for a new watch with a dependable alarm feature…preferably one with a snooze. So after much research, I ordered the WaveCepSolar. With its handsome, elegant quality and the sweep second hand, it’s a real beauty! And not having to set/change time or batteries is simply the bomb! But its alarm function turned out to be a real joke! Very disappointing. When the alarm sounds, there’s a tiny, barely audible tone (very faint and muted which lasts for only ten seconds then shuts off automatically) which wouldn’t wake the lightest sleeper. I seriously doubt a dog more than 10 feet away could hear it. If expecting the alarm to remind me of an important meeting or objective while in a noisy work environment, forget it. I couldn’t even hear it go off. I returned the watch for refund and am still looking for a replacement for my trusty, rugged ole G-Shock.

    Great watch, terrible band

A great watch once you have spent a lot of time deciphering the instructions under a magnifing glass. The main problem for me is the very uncomfortable watch band. It’s a unique, semi-stiff resin of some kind that you can’t change. If I snug it up, I get sore spots after a few hours. For my wrist, whether it’s hot or cold outside, I can never find a comfort zone for wearing this strap and watch. Don’t have this problem with any of my other 6 watches. It’s now a nice atomic ornament on my dresser top.
